Ogryns!

This is a unit of Ogryns i made up as part of my rather non-standard
Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard Army. I don't like the cartoon style
of the current 40k Ogryns, (and i loathed the Bob Olley ones from
First Ed. 40K!) so i wanted to make them look more realistic,
less stupid and a bt more technologically capable than they apparently
are in the current 40k rules.
They're made from the latest WFB Fantasy Ogres plastic boxed
set, converted with green stuff, and enhanced by the addition
of various 40K vehicle mounted weapons, as i wanted them to have
a 'home equipped' look, as if they'd pulled weapons off assorted
damaged vehicles on the battlefield.

This is the leader of the unit, having had his brain
artificially enhanced, and a cybernetic eye implant, (which is
half a pair of Imperial Guard binoculars!) Armed with a large
chainsword (from a chaos Space Marine?) and a vehicle mounted
heavy bolter, used as a pistol! He's also got an IG radio pack
on his back, as well as a couple of scratchbuilt Ogryn sized stick
grenades. The green stuff conversion work on this is the straps
holding his shoulder pads on, a metal plate on his skull, and
a couple of IG emblems, one on his belt buckle, and one on his
shoulder.

This guy is armed with a Heavy Bolter salvaged from
a Predator Tank, and modified with an Ogre cleaver used as a bayonet,
and a chain-fed ammo magazine being strapped onto his back. The
conversion work is mainly the field cap with a skull logo, a couple
of straps and a wristband to cover the alteration to his arm.

This guy has a Multi-Laser, ripped from a Sentinel,
again with a home-made bayonet attatchment, and carrying a bunch
of spare ammo for the unit, and a bunch of stowage. he's been
converted to add a pair of sunglasses, a few straps, a US army
style helmet, not to mention the cigar he's chewing on!

This is my personal favourite, the flamethrower
trooper. Protected by a rather battered flame-proof apron, and
carrying a rather unstable barrel as a fuel tank for his weapon,
along with a jerry can to carry yet more unstable fuel. All in
all, an ogryn for all sides to keep away from! The conversion
work on this one is probably the most extensive, with the apron,
an eyepatch, and the shoulder logo.

This is another heavy weapons trooper, armed with
a vehicle mounted rocket launcher, and carrying a couple of spare
rockets . He's also armed with a combat shotgun slung over his
shoulder, for when he runs out of rockets! the conversion work
on him is just a few straps and an IG logo on his belt.
The next job is to get around to painting them,
should be sometime in 2010, judging by my current speed...
